gap was my first job at the age of 16 and i continued working there on and off till i was 21. i put quite a bit of time into folding those clothes, (obviously i was a denim expert). actually i was so good at my job that one of my former managers offered me an assistant manager position at the flagship store in san francisco after i graduated college. man would my life have been different if i took that position! but i digress, the point is, i spent a lot of time with the gap and upon hearing that my store was closing i was sad.
i asked myself, how does the gap close? there is supposed to be a gap in every mall in america! how can the belden village mall ( in canton ohio) not have the volume to sustain a gap? is it the mall or the brand? go ahead and marinade on that one for a while...
my mom (stepho), sent me a picture of my old store from her camera phone. by the way mom, i am VERY impressed that you send me a picture text. you are officially out of the stone age.
so gap #3603 i will miss you... along with your jeans, button downs, pique polo shirts, puffy vests, 3 for $9 socks, velvet holiday wear and favorite tees.

There's a mall in Canton?
It is The Westfield Mall now and I too am very sad. You weren't a "Gap girl" you were the "Gap princess" Sissy worked there too so the fam had many years there. And Poo Poo better stop dissing on Canton, Alexa was produced here after all.

Sad stuff. I was there over the weekend and it looks like it is changing alot, going downhill even! My mom even commented that she couldn't believe that there was an air-brushed-t-shirt-making kiosk allowed there!

it's really a sad sad day. i'm kinda sad i dind't mak it a bigger deal to go in and say "bye" to our GAP.. remember that christmas season that we worked there together.. you were so mean to me!! cause you had seniority! jerk! or remember when we both had to work there on christmas eve and mom and mad cause we were having people over! ohh the times!
and just so you know poo poo. it's not just Canton it's the Gap.. there are 40 stores all over the mid west that are closing! amazing!
My boyfriend worked at a Gap and they closed his too!

I've only been down once and Stepho, you showed us a great time. Anything even CLOSE to Cleveland, my fam and fave pals is a wonderful place in my book.

I don't think I've stepped foot into a Gap in ages...I'm short so none of their jeans fit...and I'm broke so, well....that's the real reason.
unfortunately gap has been tanking since about 2002. in fact, just last year, gap's CEO resigned because he failed to turn the company around. all we can hope for now is that the company will get bought out.
The first thing I wanted to do when I found out the Gap was closing was drink. I should've stocked up on those grey tees. Wha wha what!!! This is Canton's Debbie Downer for sure.
