my night with suede

when i found out that i was going to be hanging out with project runway's season 5 contestant SUEDE friday night i wasn't sure what to expect.
i mean i had talked to him many times on the phone and exchanged multiple emails but i guess you just don't what to expect when meeting anyone for the first time.
from the moments i walked into zocalo mexican grille on east 4th friday night i knew it was going to be an interesting evening.
one pitcher of cucumber pepper margaritas please!
after the group of us were all getting to know each other better through tequila, little did i know that x-tina and suede were planning a little surprise for me.
apparently it was my birthday (shhhhh, don't tell the zocalo staff that it isn't really until july). one second i was sipping on cocktail, the next second i was standing up in front of the whole restaurant with a sombrero and maracas!
good thing i'm awesome at the mexican hat dance. ole!
i don't know if it was because we were in ohio or because suede is just that popular but every place we went he was getting stopped. people were screaming his name - it was hilarious.
we continued onto e 4th and stopped at pickwick and frolic heading straight down to the martini bar. where i spotted travis hafner looking cute as ever with his wifey and the t-shirt mogul himself daffy dan.
we bellied up to the bar and were joined by a few friends new and old.
after a martini at pickwick we made our way to where else but a gay dance club - duh!
next stop drag show and dancing at bounce in ohio city. and hell no we weren't paying to get in - we had suede. us pay cover? hahaha
now this was where things really got nuts. the constant sound of shrieking boys and drag queens was hilarious to watch. oh em gee. to get away from it all we cozied up to a table by the stage and got ready for the show.
of course it was my *ahem* birthday again and i got on stage with the maraca passing it around to the audience. i also whispered in the queenies ear that suede was in the audience - which of course got him pulled on stage after the second act. who doesn't love a hometown boy?
we laughed, we dance, we had an all around fabulous time - i even surprisingly ran into a few friends who i didn't think would be there. if you know what i mean...
there is one thing i didn't like - when i would try to talk/flirt for fun with the lesbians they wanted absolutely nothing to do with me. i think they could smell the hetero on me - it's like they knew i was a fraud!
but did i mention how much a love a good drag show?!? cause i do.
after looking through all of my pics from the night i realized that i couldn't post 85% of them - i'll save those for my personal library.
hope everyone had a great weekend and to suede, thanks for hanging out with us!
