i have a fever - fevers are stupid.
but aside from getting sick i had an absolute blast yesterday celebrating SPD with my friends prior to getting down with the sickness.
i took many pictures yesterday like the above that are pretty standard - but i have WAY more interesting pics to share right now. as you all know i was in nyc this past weekend and i stayed at my sissy's apartment.
while we are close, my sister and i are how you say, different.
i love all things designer, she would prefer to thrift shop. i'm generally a republican, and she's a passionate democrat who volunteered for obama. i graduated with a PR degree from university of dayton while she got a photography degree from university of the arts, an urban arts school in philadelphia.
when it comes down to it, she's my little sister, the only one i have and she means the absolute world to me.
but that doesn't mean i can't make fun of her till i cry from laughing.
case in point, my artsy eccentric sissy has some very interesting objects decorating her bedroom. for example...
after i got home and sat down to write this post i sadly realized that i forgot to take a picture of the ultimate weird thing in my sister's room - my great uncle chris's prosthetic leg that sits in the corner of her room.
prosthetic leg - hahaha, i love her.
if i were to snoop around in your room right now, what would be the weirdest thing i would find?

Um. my rainbow brite costume that I've worn for three halloweens in a row and friends have borrowed it too. It's the cirulating costume.
Where can I get a pair of butt glasses? Those are awesome.
Right now the only weird thing in my room would be my old cell phone that I still have charging on my dresser that doesn't even need to be charging since the sim card is in my new cell that I got 2 months ago. I might be a bit lazy.
Hahha, I have totally random things in my room too. A cowboy hat. Mardi gras beads, a Gone With the Wind life-size cardboard standup thingy. Your sisters place sounds very eclectic.
Weirdest thing in my room? I have a Spice Girls Greatest Hits CD. That's pretty random :)
OMG this post REALLY did make me laugh sooo much I cried. I can't believe you forgot the pic of Uncle Chris's wooden leg...who but Nic would even ask him for an old leg. You two are different in many ways and I love you both for it. XOXO
probably my silver-wrapping-paper-covered "personality box" from sixth grade. it plays host to everything from boyband memorabilia to a ballet shoe keychain to my totally rockin' lisa frank rainbow scrunchie.
omg i love the cat poster- hahaha
i have lots of random stuff around my room.
-a cow tape dispenser
-a huge fake ruby paperweight
-noise putty...hahahaha
I love that your sis has a hat rack! So fun!
Hmm... something weird in my bedroom? Probably that weird cat statuette I was given after my grandmother passed away. It's so strange looking, but it makes me smile.
my 6 feet exact darth vader replica. I put on pink glasses and pink scarf around him. :P
I think your sister pretty much beats everyone in what sort of weird stuff can one find in a room.
I am jealous. Especially love the Seinfeld poster.
hahaha this is hilarious!... i have no shame.. i think it's all awesome! i've got way more crazy stuff too.. for example.. a pin the penis on the naked man game.. a metal box state/capital quiz game.. and a bingo bank, along with a nice collection of "i love bingo" pins. but you know what sissy.. all my awesome TREASURES cost less then one pair of your fancy shoes!!!
That sword is AWESOME.
I've got a hunk of guitar from when they smashed a guitar opening a Hard Rock hotel. I think that may be the weirdest thing...
:(
I am married. We married people don't have weird stuff in our bedrooms. Or in our case, our bedroom is too small to hold anything other than the essentials.
I love your shirt in that picture.
I sometimes lose the concept of what is or isn't weird. Maybe my Elvis Pez dispensers? I also have my grandmother's mannequin from her dress-making days that's wearing a pink housecoat, straw hat and chunky beads.
Oh man, compared to your sister, I am positively BORING. :) When hubby and I moved in together before our wedding last year, we transitioned to new "grown-up" furnitre and bedding. BOO. Just kidding, I love it really. I guess one wierd thing would be the heating pad my grandma made - it's a cloth sack of rice that you heat up in the microwave. No need for cords!
But that's functional, so not really "weird"
Prosthetic Leg?!? hahahahahahaha!!!
The weirdest thing in my room is probably my signed and framed Tony Lucca picture. My friend met him and he signed it for her to me. And every guy that has ever been in my room comments on it. It may or may not be hanging above my bed. . . .
Right now I have the old Full House game sitting on my dresser. A friend bought it off of eBay for me as a joke and I haven't gotten around to putting it away yet!
weirdest? probably my backstreet stuff... *ahem*
Your sister has a Seinfeld poster?????????
Why didn't this get brought up at dinner????
My room is such a sad place... you really wouldnt find anything unexpected...
except my college diploma. Bet you didnt think I had one of those bad boys...
i also have another Seinfeld picture signed by the whole cast.. AND two signed scripts!.. you might call me a fan..
LOL! And, THIS is why I love to buy presents for Nic...........SO much easier than you, Alexa, unless of course, I want to spend hundreds of dollars! LOL!
those butt glasses are freaking awesome!! My room? Nothing my room is boring. Maybe that I have a window frame with no window in it hanging on my wall that i paid for at a ....thrift store. gasp! lol
That NKOTB board game is the coolest thing ever. Where'd you find it???
I have a plaque in the EXACT SAME STYLE. Except mine says "The opinions of the husband in this house are not necessarily those of the management". (I was married once)
I get strange looks for the "Ped Egg" that I have but it's not really weird... I have about 50 alphabet letters on my fridge and there's always something weird on there. One day we tried to make a sentence using all the letters I had at the time and it was something like "I, penis boy take all handjobs k thx fu" (I wrote the comma with a dry erase marker) and my fridge currently says "NIXON'S BAAACK" in the style of Futurama.
Probably my hanging vine of plastic mushrooms. Yes mushrooms, grow on vines. I don't even like mushrooms. I do like to think that can turn tacky into chic.
First: I love the pic from SPD! You look so cute!
I think the oddest thing we have in our house is an old scuba tank made out of fiberglass that Sean's uncle designed years and years ago.
I'm sure I'll think of something more eclectic. :-)
I have a glory hole in my bathroom...JK! I have nothing weird...
Is it weird that I have a houndstooth printed flask in my nightstand's lower drawer? Actually, I've never used it and always intend to, especially since it matches my coat ;)
xo,
Kelly
NKOTB gag... pretty old fashioned and interesting i see
haha this is all amazing. i love your sister's taste. and ummm i will totally take that jordan puzzle off her hands if she needs to get rid of it ever :)
I love that she has a Chia Pet. Where is the pet rock?
The most odd thing......well I moved my paper mache bunny out of there so I'll go with stuff in my "personal drawer."
dude, i want to be friends with you so i can get a cool nickname like the rest of your friends.
weird thing in my room... hmm... i think i do a pretty good job of hiding all my weirdest stuff under my bed or in my closet :-)
I FINALLY gave these away to random friends, but I used to have 7 or 8 (unused, still packaged) vibrators in my closet. I won big at a bachelorette party. I also had a giant stuffed penis. I live with my parents so I was so glad to get rid of that stuff. (I saved myself one, of course.)
Ugh. The internet just swallowed my comment whole. Fuck.
OK, in summary it said: "Obsessed with your sister, I want that bowling plaque, I need more crazy things around my house because I don't have any."
A grow worm... think knee high hose, filled with dirt and grass seed, and placed in a pie tin from Marie Calendar's.
