rain, rain go away

it rained in cleveland yesterday.

it'll probably rain today as well, which is fine when it means that i don't have to water the potted plants on my deck, but it's not fine when i have to walk around in it.

you know how you feel gross after you've been rained on?

well i don't get it.

rain is supposed to be little drops of deliciousness from the heavens, clean, pure and untouched.

and if the above statement is true, why in the world does one feel like a drowned rat after being caught in the rain for even the shortest amount of time.

walk ten feet in the rain - instant drowned rat status.

walk a block in the rain - noah better build the ark.

why can't rain be more like a fresh clean shower instead of a swamp bath?

i'm NOT only happy when it rains - i'm gonna go ahead and blame it on the rain.

(yeah, yeah)

  6. Here in New England summer has decided not to show up, and instead we have had this truly lovely non-stop rain. And guess what else??? This morning I noticed that some of the leaves are already starting to turn! I cried the whole way to the office. It was pretty sad.

  8. It seems to rain a lot here...what gives?

And sadly the forecast doesn't look all that promising, either.

  9. I dont mind the rain as long as its one of those soft calming rains, but the pounding stinging, coming from every direction rain that we've been getting. Yeah, it can go to Hell.

  11. I love rain, at night, when I'm safely tucked in warm and dry in my own bed.

I'm with Maxie though - run around naked.

  12. if you are rained on when swimming its no big deal....i think cus your already wet. We have make up and lotion, and hair spray, and mousse, and when all that gets wet its disgusting.

Rain might be clean, but then who knows....it is cleveland rain.... =)

  13. It has been a slightly depressing rain in Akron/Cleveland lately, hasn't it? I heard on WCPN this morning that Akron is about to set a record for the coldest July in the city's history. Yay. Lol.

  14. Along those lines, I don't get why rain makes my hair UBER frizzy when taking a shower doesn't do nearly the same damage. It's really annoying is what it is. Because like you, my mood changes with the rain. And it's not a good thing.

  19. It's because it's humid where you are! Here in Colorado where the air is nice and dry, for the most part rain really does feel refreshing. And it never lasts long.

  20. It's raining gangbusters here! Cats, dogs! Small baby elephants!

I love it, but I don't so much love being out in it. I don't have a front porch anymore so I can't listen to it rattle on the aluminum. Sad.

Supposedly, it's going to rain here in Metro-Detroit for nine days. The plus is that my plants won't need watering; the minus is that my lawn REALLY needed cutting as of a week ago. Burn.

  21. You could try what Maxie said...

Or you could try dancing in the rain! It's a lot of fun.

It's been raining here for a few days too.

  23. Discovered your blog a couple days ago, and I love it :) I'm currently in Lithuania, and it's been raining for like 2 months straight (a day of half-sun here and there). I know exactly what you mean. Ugh.

I like thunderstorms. Being in the rain...not so much. Not to mention I spend forever trying to straighten my hair, and rain just ruins it instantly ;)
