since fall tv is back in full effect my roommate the klutz and i have been spending some quality time watching the tube recently.
for the last few weeks a certain tmobile my touch commercial has been hitting the airwaves hard...
and no matter if i'm on the phone, mid gchat, doing dishes, or reading a blog i stop what i'm doing and sing along...
"if you want to sing out, sing out. and if you want to be free, be free. 'cause there's a million things to be. you know that there are...."
and then, when the commercial is over i say to the klutz, whether she is listening or now, "i LOVE that song. i LOVE cat stevens", and then i giggle.
fact - this happens multiple times throughout the evening every time the commercial comes on.
here's the background: since i was very young and listened to the tea for the tillerman vinyl on repeat i've always had a schoolgirl crush on cat stevens.
(and i will always call him cat stevens, sorry yusuf)
i love his raspy voice, i love his songs/lyrics, i loved his long curly black hair and beard, i loved his dreamy good looks (back in the day), and i love that he is a british born greek hippy.
attention men: if you look like the man above, CALL ME.basically when i hear cat stevens i get happy and sing out, and that's really the only point to this post - that and i'm a sucker for a catchy commercial song.

and i just said to myself last night. "if i hear this damn commercial ONE MORE TIME..."
i cant think of a day in the last month where this wasnt stuck in my head.
but ya know what i hate even more!? those caveman ads. HAAAAATE! and its always SO loud. ugh.

The commercial that's been getting to me is the one for Windows 7 with the little girl that's so cute you want to squish her. This is an actual convo between me and The Boyfriend after the last time it aired.
Me: She's so adorable.
The BF: I kind of want to beat her up though
Me: Why? Because she can do more with Windows than we can?
The BF: Yeah, kinda.
The Weightwatchers ads with the little orange guy and the annoying voiceover. I've probably seen it about 50 times in the last week. Is the cable company trying to tell me something by constantly playing the commercial?? I'm about to eat a whole pie in front of the TV out of spite.
i love the preview for Where the Wild Things are....when they spell L-O-V-E. it just makes me smile!!
All commercials drive me nuts, most especially the Geico commercials with the cavemen.

i'm with kim. the previews for Where the Wild Things Are make me tear up every time... love it. however, i also love that myTouch commercial. So much that, a couple weeks ago, i went to my t-mobile store and upgraded my phone. i love it.
That exact thing happens to Josh and I every time that commercial comes on- our living room turns into a sing along.
I definitely find myself singing along to that commercial, too. You really can't help it, so why try to fight it?
i DVR all of my shows, so i don't see any commericals. and my friends get mad at me and think i'm lying when they bring up a commercial and i say i've never seen it. it makes me smile, bc i really have no idea what they are talking about.

Oh yes, Cat Stevens, I had a crush on him too 'in the day'that album was soo big. Saw him in concert in college, had to wait at the stage door to get a peek and that is what I got...a peek. Amazing how 'Cat Stevens and The Beatles weren't around all at, commercially...but now geez. Glad I could assist you in your music appreciation...ha. XO

I saw a commercial on Sunday with Justin Timberlake playing table tennis and I'm pretty obsessed. But mostly just b/c JT is in it. (It's on during sports, so I don't see it very often, obvi. And I don't even know what it's for.)
I love all the Mac commercials with Justin Long in them :).

When it comes to this commercial, you are my twin. Seriously, LOVE that commercial, LOVE Cat Stevens. Sweets will concur that I'm loony when the commercial comes on - as if I've never heard the song before.
People are probably gonna hate me for this comment, but I seriously dislike commercials. Like, so much so that I actually mute the tv in between shows.

I really love the Prius commercials. They just make me smile because it's cute, fluffy music. Nice way to start the day.
Not sure if you have these out in Cleveland, but there's these commericials for Mohegan Sun Casino (in CT) out here in New England that make me want to punch someone. They are all really bad renditions of older songs with the words changed to be about the casino. And they sing and dance around and I HATE them.
But I'm a Mac girl, so I love those PC/Mac commericials.

The free credit report commercial always gets me singing. I just can't control myself from not singing along.
