Oooh so exciting! And I'm the first! With working 40+ hours a week and taking 18 credits my senior year in college, focus and energy are something I value quite a bit. Lately my drug of choice has been Excedrin, which is so bad for me, but so good. It keeps the migraines away and gives me a little boost of energy. Oh, and sugar is always good too. Gotta love my chocolate (you should see my "snack drawer" at work.)
How do I stay focused at work? By reading the blogs, of course! And since (I am from Pittsburgh, I like lurking on all the Cleveland blogs out there.) Have an energetic day!
What's cooler than Free Starbucks? That's easy: Free Dunkin Donuts, because from what I hear, DD coffee reigns supreme. But, I guess you're not giving away DD stuff. And ironically I don't drink coffee. So, just consider this comment a whole lotta noise and not an official entry. =) xoxo

Focused, what!? Because I'm a student and I hate the library, I do all my work at home where there are distraction temptations up the wazoo. To stay focused I set myself small goals, such as "I won't check email or Facebook until I write at least 2 pages of this paper," or "I won't look at my g-reader until I've read for 20 minutes straight." I always keep the goals manageable and it works really well for me.

That's quite the disclaimer! And I can't believe that stealth swith is a real thing.
I harness the power of my unruly bladder to stay focused: whenever there's a task I'm dragging my feet on, I chug a glass or two of water, and tell myself that I cannot get up to go pee until I've reached a certain milestone. It definitely has a way of getting me moving.
I'm sure this method would be doubly effective with coffee instead of water...

I focus by updating Twitter and Facebook constantly and listening to ESPN 850 WKNR.
Of course, once I hit the real world in a month I'll probably legitimately focus.
I'm a huge Doubleshot fan. I keep a stash at home to drink with breakfast before morning meetings. I seriously always picture myself as Popeye when I drink it and sometimes say glug, glug, glug out load like it's my super duper can o' spinach. I'm a nerd...I know.
This is appropriate, because I don't recognize you if you're not carrying a Venti around the office.
While a coupon for Starbucks would be awesome, what I would REALLY appreciate would be a coffee shop here in MidTown Cle. That's for you, Starbucks people. Hope you are listening.

I DO THE SAME THING! Hahahaha. I drink a lot or water, or a few cups of coffee or tea, and then I FORCE myself to finish what I was working on before I allow relief. That's incredible. I'm glad I'm not the only one. Though we may become victims of UTIs. :P

-tie up my co-workers and place tape on their mouths
-listen to music to block everything out
One of the above is completely false.
If it was not for coffee I would be face down on my desk everyday at work. Coffee is my crack.
i stay focused during the day by reading the plum first thing in the am, that way i am not wondering what the hell you are doing all day!

I stay focused by sleeping. . . wait. . . I guess that would have the opposite effect because I'm not really focused per say. . . I drink coffee, eat a little something, or go for a brisk, quick walk to get myself to stay focused. :)

I stay focused with a To Do list and things to put on it. I need DEADLINES... I'm not a plan-aheader. If it's in the future, it'll get done the day it's due. I'm trying to get better but it's not in my DNA.
I'm not sure if there's some guideline here that I have to talk about coffee in order to leave a comment. But who am I to argue?
I drink coffee. I wash my face with coffee. I bathe in coffee. I rinse my mouth out before bed with coffee. Coffee and I were once desperately in love, but then coffee killed my brother, and now it is my sworn enemy. When given a choice between gold and coffee, I will take...the gold. And use it to buy more coffee.
Yeah I'm still hoping and praying that I win the free Starbucks... my world has been incomplete without starbucks in my life as of recent. Stupid wallet... it's so empty.
