your turn

Tuesday, January 5, 2010

i've been starring at a blank screen for longer than i care to admit.

i hate it when blogging is hard, when i feel like it's forced.

when the above happens i should probably be smart and just not post anything, but then i feel guilty.

see what you guys, my faithful readers, put me through?

my name is alexa marinos, and i'm a slave to my blog.

am i going through a january blog slump perhaps? but aren't i supposed to be invigorated in the new year?

i'm begging you, someone, anyone, give me a blog idea, ask me a question - any question, tell me a joke, share a tip or give me a concept to discuss.

need advice? i'm your girl - help me help you. spill it.

i'll just go ahead, sit back and relax, and wait for the ideas/questions to pour in.

you guys are going to do some work for once...

  1. Yes, and I now turn to our turn we take our turn something like this all remember our names,

  2. I want to read a post from one of the Plum's cast of characters...specifically the Muffin or the Beav. :) A guest blogger...who is not a blogger, but Plum's friend.

  3. I was going to recommend conning people into guest posting for you.

But Lindsey Nav's idea takes it a step further. And cooler.

    Non-bloggers guest posting.

    Get on it.

  4. lindsey and peter - i like it, maybe even stepho (my mom) would write one.... that could be trouble.

  5. Oooh, Stepho!

Can you tell me how to stop obsessing over things I cannot control? Because that would be SUPER helpful and also probably spare you from a lot of endless chatter from me.

  6. i want to know how you manage to live such a fun/busy/crazy life and still manage a full time job and a blog?!?! :)

also, id like to know how the overload fitness is coming along.

  7. I remember you used to do a weekly guest post, right? You could bring that back.

But don't feel guilty if you don't post. We will miss you but we will always come back.

  8. I think you should do a series about trying things you don't normally do (or don't normally blog about). Like Cooking with the Plum. Or Walking Old Ladies Across the Street with the Plum. You know, give us your perspective on the things we do in our own lives. =)

  9. I had the longest haitus ever, and now I'm back and happy to be so. Missed you!

  10. Today's topic on my blog is nicknames but the post I am writing is on fetishes feel free to uses the topic too ;).

  11. What was your most embarrassing drunken moment (that you either remember or someone told you about afterwards...)

  12. yes, i like the idea of your friend's guest posting. my friend michelle wants to post on mine too.

  13. hiiii...i normally don't comment on your blog because I'm a slacker, errr...i mean very very busy...however, i figured why not this time! bc I like ya! soo...being it's the new year and about reflecting on previous years and telling us one year (preferably in the past 10 years) that you would change from the Get-Go? At the stroke of midnight. Lessons you learned from that particular year, ways you keeping things like that from happening again....deep right?!?!

    or not. ya know. :-)

Love your blog! But don't worry if you don't post. just tell us all to screw-off for a day or two and deal with.

  14. men are from mars. women are from venus.

  15. What's the best way to kidnap Taylor Lautner?

What? Too creepy of a question?

  16. Hmmm, guest blogging...interesting. Don't listen to "P" that could just be full of bad decisons made public "TMI". And tell Jenn you are able to keep up with your busy life because everytime you come home you are sleeping on the couch recuperating! I will give you some other ideas....later. XOXO

  17. Dear Alexa,

Please let your mom guest blog.

p.s. Tell us all about your first kiss.

(See what I did there? Gave you two blog ideas! What? They're not lame.)

  18. Giant Lobster vs. Rhino

    Who wins and why.

The Hubs and I had an hour long conversation after hearing this on the radio about the perils of a large lobster and Rhino defense moves. I'd like to hear your opinion.

And yes by this you can tell the Hubs and I are easily amused.

  19. Choose one, for the rest of your life:

    White or red?

  20. Oh oh oh, I gotta a joke!

    Knock, knock.
    Who's there?
    Olive who?
    Olive ya! (Get it...I-love-ya?)

I know, I know, I'm the best joke teller ever. Right? Right.

  21. would you ever ask out your crush and does he know you like him? what would be your perfect date?

  22. how about an ode to awesomefest, including a petition to bring it back?

    awesomefest was so awesome.

  23. What's your love life like these days?
What does a guy have to do to get a date with the lovely Plum?
What's the first thing you put in your mouth every morning?
Can't we all just get along?

Those are some questions I've been asked only today, so I thought I'd pass them on.

    Perhaps you should join

  24. A question for you... a question for you... okay: Am I more beautiful on the inside or the outside? Discuss.

  25. Here's something better to write about:
    Love Takes Over

Write to the newspaper and post it on your blog at the same time. Change the world.

  26. Hmmm... I don't know... How about this... do you feel it's better to be chased by a guy, do the chasing, or for both of you to chase each other equally?

  27. if you had to listen to one pandora station for the rest of this year, what would it be?

  28. Can you let Lilu be a guest blogger? Her mind is pure sanctified thought-soiling love.

  29. How about a reader challenge, where you have to do a dare from a reader for a week and write about it? I'm formulating ideas now...

  30. Ohhh, please have your mom guest post, that would be fantastic!

Or what about telling us what city you would move to besides your beloved CLE.

  31. Guest posts from moms are always the emu's elbows. Potential blog post starters, though:

*What's the best near-death experience you've ever had?
*Everyone's got either a rich uncle or a creepy uncle ("don't get in the car with him" uncle!). Which have you got?
*What are some phrases you use with your family or circle of friends that outsiders would never be able to understand; what's the personal etymology of these phrases?

...yeah, these are also totally the icebreakers I use during speed-dating. To great success, obvi.

  32. I've been suffering from blog-block too. :(

Comments are cool. This is a fact.
