obviously i have plenty to catch you kids up on, but those posts (yes, multiple, there's so much to cover), are going to have to wait till tomorrow....
....because today i'm writing to tell you about the 16th annual cleveland magazine silver spoon awards.
every year cleveland magazine publishes a best restaurant issue and hands out silver spoon awards to northeast ohio's best eateries. the winning restaurants are then showcased at the annual silver spoon awards party which is an amazing food and wine tasting event that not only promotes the cleveland culinary scene but also helps raise money and awareness for the arthritis foundation.this year the festivities are thursday, may 13th from 6 to 9pm at the intercontinental hotel and you can purchase general admission or VIP lounge tickets ($80 and $125 respectively) online by clicking here.
OR
you can win two general admission tickets to the silver spoon awards party by commenting on this post!
simply tell me which one of the participating restaurants (i've listed them below), you are most looking forward to trying out at the silver spoon awards party and i'll pick the winner from the comment section this thursday.
participating restaurants: Aladdin's Eatery, Angelo's Pizza, Bubba's-Q World Famous Bar-B-Q & Catering, Chinato, Corky & Lenny's, Downtown 140, Eat'n Park, fire food & drink, Flying Fig, Great Lakes Brewing Co., The Greenhouse Tavern, Heck's Cafe, Hot Sauce Williams, Hyde Park Prime Steaks, L'Albatros, Lola, Pacific East Coventry, Paladar Latin Kitchen, Parallax, Pearl of the Orient, Pier W, Red - The Steakhouse, Saffron Patch, Sans Souci, Shuhei Japanese Cuisine and Sushi Bar, Sweet Melissa's, Table 45, Ty Fun Thai Bistro, and VegiTerranean.
sounds good/fun/delicious doesn't it?
leave a comment and you can try them all, obvy.
don't forget to leave me your email address if i don't know you personally and or can't contact you through twitter/blogger account.
good luck, have a great week, and check back tomorrow for my kentucky derby recap part one.
Chinato if I had to pick just one. But luckily on the 13th no one has to!
ReplyDeleteL'Albatros - heard so many good things, but haven't been able to make it there yet!
ReplyDeleteGreenhouse Tavern. I keep trying to get there, but always seem to end up somewhere else. Oh the misery of having excellent food options in CLE.
ReplyDeleteWant to increase your odds of winning? Head over to my blog and enter to win tickets there too!

See you there
Cleveland restaurants are so good, it's tough to choose! I'd have to say L'Albatros, though. I've heard great things about it. Even though it's only a stone's throw from the law school, I still haven't been there yet. Hope I get to try them out at the Silver Spoon Awards Party!
ReplyDeleteThe Greenhouse Tavern b/c of the awesome menu options - especially the pommes frites and chicken wings!
ReplyDeleteL'Albatros - still haven't made it there yet.
ReplyDeleteI love VegiTerranean but never get there, but I have always wanted to try Flying Fig.
ReplyDeleteHot Sauce Williams!! Every time I drive by there I always want to stop in, I have heard wonderful things about their food, and friend of ours from Chicago always always go there when they are visiting!!
ReplyDeleteThe Greenhouse!
ReplyDeleteI just got back from a B-party in Miami. I stayed up all night. Crazy fun! Can't wait to hear your re-cap.
I'm embarrassed I've only been to SIX out of those restaurants! I obviously need to win so I can enjoy copious amounts of food.
ReplyDeleteFor the baby, of course. ;)
I really want to try Flying Fig - you've raved about it so many times, but I have yet to go there. What's up with that? No bueno.
Parallax!
ReplyDeleteI mean I live near flying fig and I've never been so that would have to be that for sure.
ReplyDeleteL'Albatros
ReplyDeleteI tasted a little something at Market Under Glass and I can't wait to have more.
VegiTerranean or Greenhouse Tavern :)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE Parallax, so definitely that one... of the ones that I haven't tried yet, definitely Flying Fig - I've only heard great things about it. I look forward to any and all food though.
ReplyDeleteParallax - always, always, Parallax.
ReplyDeleteI would love to try Flying Fig- everyone talks about how good it is! :)
ReplyDeleteHot Sauce Williams. My wife hates barbecue, so I don't get it anywhere near as often as I'd like to, and Hot Sauce Williams is one restaurant I haven't tried yet.
ReplyDeleteUm, who isn't looking forward to Eat'n Park!?
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, I've heard many good things about Parallax but haven't been able to try it yet.
Chinato please! Haven't been there yet and have heard many good things. But then there is Parallax... and I've never been there either. (insert sad face and pity party)
ReplyDeleteShuhei Japanese Cuisine and Sushi Bar
ReplyDeleteVegiTerranean sounds cool. Can't wait to try that.
ReplyDeleteObvi it is Eat 'n Park for their delicious smiley face cookies. The hell?
ReplyDeleteFor serious, Corky & Lenny's, because that place always, always, always makes me think of Corky from "Life Goes On" and Lenny of Lenny & Squiggy. So I watched a lot of TV growing up. Sue me. And then PICK ME.

@annweinzimmer
I've read so many good things about Chinato that I'm dying to try the place. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna go with Paladar since I've got Cinco de Drinko on the brain.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read the Derby posts!
mm food! i love aladins...
ReplyDeletebut i thought this had to do with meeting ricky (now RICK) Schroeder, and alfonso ribero.
Kind of a let down...but thats ok! I like food too!
It's probably a sin that I'm a 14+ year vegitarian and haven't made it to VegiTerranean.
ReplyDeleteAnd Ty Fun is always to DIE for.
Yuuuu-UM!
Excited to try L'Albatros! I've heard great things!
ReplyDeleteVegiterranean? Vegetarian food in a Mediterranean setting? I'm all in.
ReplyDeleteAhhh! This is awesome! :) I am DESPERATE to win!
ReplyDeleteOK, so obviously I eat at Aladdin's all the time, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE their food. I would love to try fire food & drink, Great Lakes Brewing Co, The Greenhouse Tavern, Lola (obviously.. who wouldn't??), and I love Saffron Patch. OOOH! I've not yet had VegiTerranean.
So pretty much all of them. LOL
Saffron Patch for sure, I've been craving GOOD Indian for awhile, but there isn't anywhere good out here where I live.
ReplyDeleteI would love to try Table 45 again. My first experience consisted of a strange gentleman coughing up red wine on the back of my dress. I was sticky and had to go home. Now, all I want to do is actually eat and avoid red wine hurricanes. xoxo
ReplyDeletebeen dying to check out chinato!
ReplyDeleteGreenhouse Tavern!
ReplyDeleteYo Plum-
ReplyDeleteWe vote Greenhouse Tavern or Red.
Crossing our fingers cause it would be groovy to go-
Muncha muncha
QLF
So many good ones!
ReplyDeleteI'd have to say Saffron Patch, simply because at a past job, I had the great luxury of planning the office Xmas party, which included ordering all of the food and running around town picking up all of the requests. Saffron was on the list, and it looked/ smelled so good, but I had to run out to one more stop and by the time I got back, there was nothing left from there for me to try. Torture.
L'Albatros - It's such a gem of the east side!
ReplyDeleteHot Sauce Williams! A Cleveland staple, and I've never been there!
ReplyDeleteHere's to thinking about BBQ and the summer...
Ty Fun - i keep trying to go but its always when i find myself in Tremont unexpectedly and i can never get a table!
ReplyDeletepier w.
ReplyDeleteThe Greenhouse Tavern or Chinato, since I have nto made it to either yet - but all of them are amazing options so it was hard to pick! (Yay for not having to at the event) :-)
ReplyDeleteParallax!
ReplyDeletepoacher at rocketmail dot com
I'd love to try Chinato! This sounds like a great time :)
ReplyDeleteGAHHHH!
ReplyDeleteSo many to try! I think I will choose Hot Sauce Williams for two reasons:
1. Soul food=awesome
2. It gives me more reason to sing "Hot Sauce in My Bag."
:)
all of course because the only thing I like to do more than make people uncomfortable is eat.
ReplyDeletebut probably Chinato because we've been meaning to get over to it.
Hot Sauce for sure! Never been and everyone talks about it!
ReplyDeletePaladar Latin Kitchen, this is a fact.
ReplyDeleteHands down VegiTerranean. Akron really lucked out and Cleveland wants some veggie love!
ReplyDeleteParallax! I've heard so many good things about he restaurant and have not had the chance to try it out myself yet!
ReplyDeleteVegiTerranean! VegiTerranean!VegiTerranean! I would love to try VegiTerranean as well as many many others!
ReplyDeleteGreenhouse Tavern; have heard nothing but great things about it.
ReplyDeletechinato. it would be a great way to spend my birthday.
ReplyDeletePier W!!! Love it there
ReplyDelete@chrisdujour
Definitely Greenhouse Tavern. It is so hard to get my husband to go outside of his usual spots and I have heard such great things about Greenhouse Tavern. I know if I could get him there just once he would be hooked and be more apt to try new places.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to try Red or Sans Souci, because these are the places I'm least likely to end up going to on my own since they're fancy/expensive.
ReplyDeleteI've tried a bunch of the more 'accessible' places on the list and love em'.
I guess it didn't take the comment I left before - argh! my choice would be Chinato! And the event sounds great!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteexcited about red- went there a few weeks ago, hands down the best steak in cleveland!
