Someone please tell me I'm not the only one in the world who allows their mail to build up under the mail slot in their foyer like this.

I literally leave it lying on the floor for days, going through it on the floor digging out any important pieces of mail and leaving the junk to sit, and sit and sit.

Am I just flat out lazy? Probably.

Just like I'm too lazy to organize my jewelery in my closet, throw out approximately 278 men's XL promo t-shirts that I don't even wear or put away boxes of Christmas presents in my hallway.

I've got to pull myself together and get organized. Maybe it's time to a throw a party because you know I'm a great "company cleaner" - Superbowl party perhaps?

Now if you'll excuse me I have some mail to go through - bahaha, who am I kidding? I'm going to continue to sit on my big red chair and watch the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Reunion and then, if I'm still awake Alcatraz.

Bring it.

  2. (uh... awesome comment lianahills. totally convincing that you're not a spambot.)

i do this, except i have to fetch my mail every day.. so then i pick out the good stuff and just throw the rest in a pile to deal with later. that might be even worse.

  3. This! Why is it that it's those types of "piles" that seem the hardest to clean up? The stacks of old magazines on the end table, the collection of winter wear accumulated on the coat rack, the pile of old receipts and half packs of gum and sunglasses tossed out from my purse. And these are all examples I just came up with by looking at one corner of my living room....

  4. Heh. I like how we're seeing spam pile up on a post about junk mail. I got through mail the day it arrives, mostly because I'm compulsively checking for a sweepstakes winning notification!

  5. Alexa, you should get a cute garbage can with a lid. Pick out the important stuff and throw the rest in the garbage. It could go right under or next to that table. If your mom reads this she is totally going to call you and tell you to pick it up!

  6. If I had a mail slot in my apartment, I would absolutely let it fall there. Or put a basket underneath it so I can just let it build up there and I don't accidentally slip on it. I'm that lazy too.

  7. Haha...Teen, I told Alexa from the moment she moved in she needed a basket there! Obviously she still has NOT listened.

  9. We don't have a mail slot. But, we bring in our mail from the mailbox, pile it on the console table and leave it there for, ummm, weeks at a time. I'm pretty good about pulling out important mail. Sweets is not! It's so ugly and I wish we'd just go through it every few days. I'd even settle for once a week!

  10. Our mail slot empties into our front coat closet which means it's even more out-of-sight-out-of-mind. I try to be somewhat diligent about sorting out the important mail, but there have definitely been a few instances where a week after it came in I found an important letter buried in a grocery store mailer.

  11. Right now, seriously, I am looking at a pile of mail that is strewn across my couch...because that is where I dropped it. To top it off, my cat is sleeping on top of it. I hate mail!

  20. Flowers are a good Mother's day gifts and these are actually most preferred, as they will last long and grow with time. You can also get your mother good cakes for this day as you do not have to limit your gift ideas to flowers only. Make mother’s day special for your mother and get her the present that is best for her. Send flowers to India and Cakes to India.
