Is it ironic that I had a spoon laying on my desk and I attempted to balance it on my nose after reading this post? And guess what? I did it on the 2nd try! (This success and the fact that I had a random spoon on my desk may or may not have been because I just finished a vanilla pudding.)

Things were so easy as a kid in the summer. I wish I could go back to camp, eat crap all summer, not work and host a lemonade stand. (I had to photograph one a few weeks ago, and it was ADORABLE.)

There are way too many things I miss about being a kid, your entire list included.

I miss being outside all day until the street lights came on without needing to be lojacked by my parents. The world isn't so different that kids need cell phones at 5. There's just more media coverage of the same bad shit that happened then.

I miss running after the ice cream truck. Every time I hear one coming down the street I wonder whether I'll look like a Chi-Mo (child molester) because I want a Push-Up.

I wish I was as fearless as I was as a child. I uesd to ROCK the high-dive at the pool and then 2 years ago after oh...about a decade of not ever being at a place with a high dive I found one, climbed up and was scared stiff! I finally took the plunge but that's it - I will never do that again. As an adult we know all too well the possible dangers that lurk, when an 8 year old just sees the awesome ability to fly through the air and splash into the water.

I still do most of that stuff! My fave thing to do as a child was sit outside in the rain in my puffy pink chair with an umbrella and eat grilled cheese and tomato soup. It was so relaxing. Like I was all alone in the world. I could still do it, but not without thinking of whether there will be lightning to kill me or if i'll catch a cold. Plus now I have to cook my own food :(
